I have known Ms. Nyte since 2007. Our 9-year friendship has been filled with many adventures in the pursuit of happiness. Together, we have tried different diets, walked on burning coals and even travelled across Ontario to touch the most southern point of Canada. Our 9 year friendship has supplied my life with more love than I ever thought was imaginable. Whatever she offers: her gifts and talents, her time, her power and strength, her words, her touch or her service, is an expression of her love. We have supported each other through some of the most difficult times and have committed to make the necessary adjustments to ensure our friendship lasts. If she can do this in the name of friendship, she will go to greater lengths in the name of love. Ms. Nyte is one of the most loving people I know. She teaches, by her own example, how to show love to yourself and to others. Before marrying my same-sex partner, I interviewed many people to facilitate my ceremony. This person plays a very important role in anyone’s wedding day. Like any other couple, we were seeking someone who would be comfortable with our unique love and vision for our ceremony. This person required being open-minded, flexible and have strong communication and public speaking skills all while remaining true to her profession, acting within her role as an officiant and working within the guidelines and legislation around marriage ceremonies. The woman we chose was such a great fit for us and we were truly blessed to have had her part of our “big day”. Ms. Nyte is able to captivate a crowd and ensure the focus stays on the couple. She would bring a light-heart, compassion and understanding, a safe space to express vision to any couple planning their ceremony. With all of her tools, resources, networks and love, Ms. Nyte is the right candidate to fulfill the role in the joining of two people. Ms. Nyte possesses the necessary skills needed to facilitate a ceremony, but more so, she reflects the kind of person who should be in such a role.
